FIA Formula One World Championship Drivers' Trophy The trophy was commissioned in 1995, designed and made by Richard Fox, MDes RCA of Fox Silver Limited, a gold and silversmithing company, based in Croydon, South London. The trophy is retrospective and features the signatures of the winning driver's since the start of the championship in 1950. Beginning with Farina the list of world champions names and signatures flow in a spiral from the bottom of the trophy between victors laurels, every revolution a decade of winners. The trophy is made of sterling silver, 24ct hard gold plate, vitreous enamel, sodalite, cold enamel and takes approximately twelve weeks to produce.
